Meaning

Uranus is the Great Awakener, the night time Sky God of creation and change. Uranus in your chart tells me how you break out of the norm, where you like to be unique, represent yourself as an individual, possibly even an eccentric. It’s where you innovate, standout from the crow. Uranus is an incredibly creative planet, but as with such a prolific engine of invention, sometimes too much is created, or made imperfectly and so Uranus also carries with it feelings of repulsion, disgust and a wish to throw everything away and start again. Uranus can cause those feelings of rebellion, discomfort, that itching urge to just throw everything out and create chaos. It takes Uranus approximately 84 years to do one revolution of the Zodiac wheel, so when Uranus opposes itself in your birth chart, you are at the point often described as a midlife crisis! Uranus can get you labelled a rebel, an outlier or an eccentric, but the more positive roles would include genius, revolutionary or inventor. Uranus has a strong affinity with electricity and biological rhythms such as the nervous system and brain impulses. It’s also associated with suddenness, the unexpected seems to happen very quickly with Uranus, and it is often linked to accidents, or rapid changes of a situation or fortune.

Uranus is often represented as a wheel, the planet itself looks (in comparison to Saturn) as though it is on it’s side, with the rings in a vertical position, and unlike any other planet in our solar system, the poles point towards the Sun. This wheel keeps on turning, so when Uranus activates, everything can feel like it’s being turned over, or throw into the air.

Despite being a trans personal planet, Uranus can affect us in a very personal way, most likely as we are individual expressions of a collective consciousness.
