Meaning
In your natal chart, Venus gracefully displays your powers of adaptability, charm and artistic endeavour! Her strongest mainstream association is with love, everyone wants to know what state their Venus is in! But this planet is about sociability, the bringing together of two separate people, ideas or states into a relationship of harmony. Venus allows people to see their similarities, and come together in a spirit of universal love. This sense of harmony doesn’t need to be only between people, it can be expressed through art, music, sewing, in fact any craft or creative expression you can think of. In myth, Venus was married to Vulcan (Hephaestus in Greek mythology), the god of fire and blacksmiths, and they had a very passionate affair! She represented art, and he represented craft. Interestingly Venus is not really know for getting her hands dirty, she is more likely to persuade others to do the practical work.
This does seem in contrast to the fact that Venus rules Taurus, but she also rules Libra and this reflects how the senses of harmony and adaptation are expressed. In Taurus, Venus loves her fine wine, her beautiful sunsets, singing along to a guitar by the campfire, the incredible beauty of nature, a holiday in the vineyards, and lots of lovely romantic times under the stars. This is about feeling in harmony with the physical sense, harmony with the senses of the body and of nature. Taurus is a fixed earth sign, so physical touch and the environment are very important, as is being allowed to do things at your own pace. In Libra the expression of Venus is much more intellectual, she is art in a museum, beautiful architecture, the symphony played by an orchestra and even a haute couture fashion show. Libra is a cardinal air sign, so a sense of mental alighnment, beauty and everyone getting along is key here.
Understandably Venus is very linked to social media, the projected idea of beauty, how influencers wish to be followed – very Venutian. The shadow side of Venus is that it can bring up feelings of jealousy, and misappropriated, that charming, persuasive energy could be used to manipulate. Venus encourages, and shows where you can be soft, persuasive and adaptable, but also where perhaps you can be a people pleaser, or give away too much. Negotiation is an art, and if there is a strong Venutian aspect in your chart, you may struggle sometimes to keep your boundaries, because you want to be charming and friendly to everyone.

A transit of Venus can being a new idea, a new friend or new social groups into your life, and it’s can become one of those “why didn’t this happen before” moments because you all get on so well, or the idea is so fascinating and suited to you, that you can’t understand how you got this far without it. This often can be felt as lucky coincedence, and Venus is a planet of luck, money and abundance – the right people and gifts being granted to you, at the right time. The Venutian ability to blend into harmonious existence, can be expressed as love (not passion, that would be Mars!) but as friendship, devotion and fascination.
